The hijackers were not starving. They were well taken care of by areligious
millionaire (a powerful man in the Taliban) and there are
first hand accounts of them whopping it up in night clubs
in Florida.
Also, I personally know several Iranians. They say there's still
plenty of wealth there and the reasons people starve in that country
are not entirely linked to embargo's. It's Iraq who was mistreated.
I'm ashamed of our post Gulf War policy.
As far as Iran goes, there was social injustice during imperialist
times and now there's social injustice in Islamic fundamentalist
times. It's the same game in both eastern and western countries.
Only the players change. Actually, US/Iran relations had been
almost "normalized" in recent years. Don't forget, the US bombed
Iraq, their age old enemy.
It's all an ugly affair, but we should get our facts straight

I don't want to be pc or non pc..... I don't care, but Mystress, forthe first time
since I've joined this list, as some one who's still
shaken by what happen to the *people* in New York, I feel
stung by the tone of your post. It's another, cold, "America
got what it had coming" kind of message that has been
driving wedges through lists lately.
Support is needed by peace loving Americans because:
Right now Bush is rattling a deadly saber.... and he doesn't have
the emotional or intellectual depth to handle this situation. That's
a scary thing.
The fortune cookie note keeps stirring in my belly. It's says
things like:
Beware of little man with little mind in house of white.
Beware of missing nuclear material for former Soviet Union.
Beware of fear.
I can't help the uneasy feeling I have. It not a bad feeling, no,
instead it has changed my priorities. I feel we have to do as
much as we can to love and understand each other.
Mystress, if four jet airliners full of innocent Canadians
plowed into Toronto or Vancouver and untold thousands
were consequently burned and buried alive, people in other
counties, including the US, would feel just as sorrowful.
I know you don't have a high opinion of American foreign
policy... I don't either. But please be considerate of fragile
state of mind some of us are in right now. K awaking was
such an intense transformation for me and in coming to this
list, I found a cherished home. I love, trust and respect the
people I correspond with here. I tend to take what is posted
to heart, especially what is said by you and other more long
time members.
Maybe I read you wrong.... no matter. I see that you are
human just like me.... I had deified you, which I shouldn't
have done. Now that I accept you has another mere mortal,
I can love you more.
