Subject: [K-list] vengeance, justice, fear, love

Dear List, 

I've been watching my reaction to this disaster--the horror of the pain
inflicted, the insanity of hatred and revenge--ours and theirs. The
craziness of patriotism when it serves only to separate; the fear of what is
coming.

And I think much of the desire to "get back" at the terrorists is derived
from fear--not vengeance or justice.  One wants it to "go away," but it
won't, of course. Military action will just make matters worse--or at best
postpone the problem.

But I'm afraid the die is cast, and it looks as though we are in for an awful
time of it. We all must watch our reactions with clarity, as things get much
worse.

Thanks to all who have sent love to this list and out to the world. And
thanks to all who have expressed their pain. Things *will* sooner or later,
come out as ever it shall be.
