Subject: [K-list] butterflies still flutter by
From: percyval
On 2001/09/14 16:10, percyval posted thus to the K-list: hello friends,
i just went out onto my terrace to get a better look at the disaster
site, and tp see how much the cloud of smoke has died down... twice in
the last couple of says, the wind changed and blew the poisonous acrid
smoke into my apartment... it made us nauseous and gave us sore
throats... thankfully, the air in my apartment is now clean...
as i looked out at the plume of smoke rising from the empty space in the
downtown skyline, a pair of monarch butterflies fluttered by:

this is 25 stories off the ground above a concrete jungle, and i have
never seen any of them in Manhatten before... they are probably the most
beautiful butterfly in North America, and (along with fireflies) were
always among the most joyful sights of my childhood in the suburbs of
Long Island...
this touched my heart in the most beautiful way... as i felt Goddess
showing us... as always, life is beautiful as well as terrible... we
will be fine... remember to see the incredible beauty before our eyes
amidst this historicly horrific pain we are feeling...
lovingly,
