Subject: [K-list] Doctors reaction to Kundalini/not about judging someones sexualit y!
From: Anne North
On 2001/09/03 20:44, Anne North posted thus to the K-list: Hello to all on the list
When I was around 12/13 I was finally diagnosed with Grand Mal Epilepsy.
This was after years of being considered 'weird' or absent minded. The
school nurse did not pick anything up ( at this stage I was not having full
blown seizures).
In my last year of primary school (I'm not sure what you call this in
America) I started medication , 5 years later my body settled into them.
Thinking back to this time if someone had asked me what was going on
spiritually in my life they would have received a longwinded mouthful.
Although I had lots of spiritual experiences as a child, I 'grew' out of
them. At the age of 13 I started having a spiritual life again. My parents
(done with the best of intentions!) sent me to a Catholic girls school. It is
very 'Mary' based, lovely memories of Saint days and Mary holy days with
flowers ect. It is an old school with a convent attached and the cathedral
next door. The cathedral is also Mary based and on one side stands a
fabulous little Mary chapel (amazing energy, it was only later in life I
went to have a good look at it, on the top of the building is a huge stone
pentagram!!!). My first adult spiritual experiences were in this chapel.
As well as a rebirth in spirituality I also started getting problems with my
first OBE, insomnia ( I would sometimes not sleep for days) and a totally
chaotic mind. (A term of endearment from my friends was to call me 'space
cadet'!)
It was at this stage that I talked to my specialist. Looking back I was
quite intuitive, I had no idea about anything spiritual and yet I went to my
specialist and said that my epilepsy, OBE and insomnia were connected. I was
shocked by his reaction, he did not want to know anything about my
experiences and he gave me no way of coping with them. He just told me that
I was imagining things. I really wanted to go to a sleeping clinic, but he
told that this was for people who wanted to stop snoring. Even though I was
young, I got the impression that he was not telling me everything ,I
actually felt that he had been told this before and didn't know what to say.
Being young and naive I told noone for some years. When I was about 19 I
started UNI and became great friends with a girl in my art class. We were
both spiritual and both epileptic. We realised after some long conversations
that both of us had also experienced OBE's . She had had a terrible
experience after a long seizure. An ambulance had been called and she found
herself out of body. She can actually remember 'chasing' her body down the
street. This is why I believe epileptics should be left in the same position
until
the person wakes up. My friend has had even worse experiences thatn myself
concerning doctors, but I do not feel this is my business to discuss. I now
only receive my medication from my doctors and do not listen to much of what
they say.
Hope this was not too tedious
Blessed Be
Dishpan
