Dear Brian,

 Thanks for this nice addition! Using music to reach mystical states seems
to be one major themes of the music poll! :))

So far 27 people from 3 lists have responded to the poll. Any others? :))

Here are a few musical interludes from my journal. I'd forgotten most of
these! They are mostly from the first 2 years. It's a rather odd
assortment! :))

4/8 Exhausted. all night activity. Woke 11:30 with head
vibrating. 2:30 woke out of misc. dreams. while awake felt
surge. awake for an hour. awoke at 3:30 with "Oh for God's
sake!" with pleasure brain explosion and firework sensations.
felt need to do fish posture which I did. While doing "fish"
felt strong waves/mild thunder in both ears. Awoke again 4:26 with
"Oh my God" Whole body was surrounded in pleasure field. Awoke
again at 6:00 with music (Ravi Shankar?) coming from next door.
wanted to get up and check if it was really coming from next door
or my brain, but realized I didn't want to move because I was so
close to transport to ecstasy and bliss. proceeded exactly
there, to "that quiet place" felt fullness in stomach/pelvis
area and Explosive brain waves ...

7/8 12:45 woke feeling pleasantly content. previous waves I
think 1:24 still awake. damp with heat.... 2:09 wrote "I don't know if I
can take it. Just lie back and enjoy the ride. Musical notes.
.. fireworks with written musical notes at end of rays!

 8/15 ...rushing rather strongly all day later listening to ...
music. it's good. ... found myself loving a tree.
(it *was* beautiful)

7/12 *** last night 1:24 woke with a distant statement
something like "everyone with in radius of 1500 miles will be
affected when a musical note is played. I heard a tone of some
sort and experienced a terrific explosion and my brain was full
of symbols of various sorts. active all night. lots of back
bends pressing particularly on the lower back

9/8 last night: perinium pressure all evening and night. almost
painful. 6:10 pleasure rush. Thought that all the sensations of
ecstasy, bliss, pleasure are all located in the brain--sensations
that are usually activated by joyous occasions, music, art, love,
etc. but that they can actually be activated at will because
they are part of the hardwired brain. It's just a matter of
knowing how. But why the translation into God. Well--doubting
again. list fairly quiet. Walked all the way to top of Tilden
crest. pretty 180 degree view. ... reading list's "understandings"
listening to wonderful music, sun, fruit salad. feeling rapture.

9/15 O MY God, Bolt awake. "musical
sequencing" ??
