Hi Percyval :-),
Emotion is a big part of our energy as human beings.
You will find some mystics who advocate
control and suppression.
Pleeeeezzzzz . . . .
(as woger wabbit would say)
I believe being upset, frightened, overwhelmed,
frustrated, angry - all the strong emotions that generate
tears can be sublimated and utilised.
Some forms of high energy (hyper ventilating) chanting
and breathing will induce tears.
However rather than contacting our tearful self,
how about contacting our capacity to Love?
If you sit and think and contact the times when you
have loved an experience (with a person or an event)
- that feels good.
Well we can work with that association and visualisation
and associate it with - oh say - God
or some good action - or something we would like to do.
This is why the Sufis say. 'Increase in Love'.
If you only Love chocolate or your cat
or only worship your children - that is a start . . .
:-)
What is that thing that makes us feel good?
We can contact the feeling through the memory . . .
Increase in Love
