Pardon my Ukrainian, but the above
is a little beyond my scrabble board.

Gladly, Paul. l thought the overall context l provided in the post
indicated my meaning, but FYO a quid pro quo is simply in the nature of a
contract in which parties each exchange one thing for another. ln legal terms
we'd call it *consideration* -- a contract is based on each party providing
consideration, or a quid pro quo.
There is no hard evidence l know of that Penor R gave
Sleazy Segal tulku status as a quid pro quo for a large sum of money, but the
circumstances are so suspicious that they permit no other reasonable
conclusion. There are other factors in addition to those l mentioned in my
post, including the fact that Penor urged Segal to keep it quiet. (Now why
would he do that?) Of course, he with the monstrous ego wasn't about to be
secretive about his trophy, and it leaked right away. :)
