Dear Angelique,
Sounds like another urban myth, another conspiracy theory, another Masonic
or secret order. Hopefully, most people will practice the yoga and have
this experience. What benefit can be derived by become sidetracked.
It would be somewhat disingenuous to explain the practice, mechanism and
experience one can have in practicing this Yoga, and then not mention some
place where one can find books, tapes, videos and teachers.
I first met Yogi Bhajan in April of 1970 in LA. He explained the
experiences I was having from practicing the type of Raja Yoga I had learned
from Baba Ram Dass in his Franklin NH retreat. Taking Ram Dass' story
(especially the stories not to get sidetracked, the "psst in the alleyway"
story), experience and practice to heart, I went off to practice in a
Carmelite Monastery, where they let me come in for nearly half a year. Yogi
Bhajan gave me some instructions, which I took and went off to a small
village in France where I practiced the sets and kriyas he taught me, and
the experience described in the previous postings began to happen. I wrote
him a letter about this opening of the Hrdayam, and he wrote back to go to
his London Center. Over the course of the next 3 years I spent several
months in 3ho centers in Washington DC, Phoenix, Tucson, Pumona and LA, and
later went to join my family in the northeast US.
This experience has continued to deepen over the years regardless of the
activities one is obliged to live. Whenever some new experience would
emerge and I would write Yogi Bhajan, he would always write back with words
of encouragement. There are probably innumerable people like me that had
the opportunity at some point in their lives to learn this yoga and kept up
the practice and gained this experience for themselves. While this
experience is recorded in all the religions, the practice of this yoga
results in actually "hearing" their teachings. Then something truly
extraordinary happens.
Regarding good stories, while the one you mention about Yogi Bhajan is
interesting, I think that Lord Bullwer-Lytton's Rosicrucian Story "Zanoni"
is much more intriguing, and hope one day someone makes a great movie from
it. My mother had a copy of it given to her by her Great Uncle, when she
was 16 in the Netherlands, and I found it in the archives of a City Library
when I was 16, an original copy from the 1845 printing sampled with the
purchase date 1854. I would urge everyone to get a copy and read it, maybe
from www.amazon.com. I think the Rosicrucian website may be www.amorc.com.

Your posts are very interested, Pieter.. but it does seem that you are
spamming for Yogi Bhajan..
Someone wrote to me of him, recently..a curious tale that some may find
to be of interest.. food for thought.:
It came about when, after ascertaining that OKC bombing didn't occur the way
the story is commonly told, someone wondered, So how the heck did these
people get past the security?
Which opened up a whole new line of investigation. Any time facts are
hidden, there's a reason, and it was MOST difficult to find who the security
firm was. And even then, the firm had "evaporated" just weeks after the
bombing. But then one of the guys who has ** access found that the firm,
TEG, out of New Mexico, was
actually a subsidiary of a larger firm, AKAL, and that one is still
around--and owned and operated by ::Guru Bhajan::!
AKAL, and presumably the good guru, also have many many ties to BATF, FBI,
and operations involving money laundering, arms smuggling and drug
smuggling--even to the point of having a BATF agent testify on behalf of one
of the members who got caught trying to smuggle grenade launchers. The
company, under that name and several others, is global--its tentacles
stretch everywhere, and they do most of the "security" guarding for almost
all the federal facilities right now.
It reminds me of some strange sci-fi story or something, it's so very weird.
In fact, if I hadn't seen all the court documents, incorporation documents,
and news articles, I would have said it was all just too woo-woo to be
serious. And it's definitely an equal-opportunity thing--we find ties to
Republicans like James Baker and Secord, as well as ties to Clinton
cronies--some of it even looks like it has Oliver North's touch, but so far
we haven't found it. Presidents might change, but the government remains
the same.
But Bhajan is in it deep (we turned up other black ops for this bunch too,
but they don't concern me right now). And you'd never know it from reading
his 3HO websites, would you? Peace and light and...what? terrorism? Just
another cautionary tale for guru followers, any guru.
