On 2001/06/16 03:01, Paul Perner posted thus to the K-list: Hello K List,
A year ago I posted a story about the opening of a subway link to my
neighborhood (a newly designated "arts district") and how my friend, who
was awakened through marathon running (a "runner's high" gone through
the ceiling... so to speak) was chosen to host the entertainment for the
ribbon cutting... and about the awesome, female explosives expert who
first blasted the tunnel five years earlier etc.... remember?
Well, normally we would get maybe about 5,000 for the annual street
festival. But that morning... nobody expected the quarter million that
showed up. It was nuts... like Woodstock or seeing Vladimir Lenin Live
at Red Square. There was not a single arrest or mishap for the entire
two day event.
Although my friend, Kelly, was not solely responsible for the festival's
astounding success, I'm among the many people who are very proud of her.
We've been talking about cannibalism and baser side of human nature the
last couple days. But there's another side to us. Kelly is an example of
those all too rare, self actualized individuals. She's come full circle
with incredible grace. She helps the community not by culling the weak
(so to speak), but by nurturing the best in people... disadvantaged
"weaker" people.
I have a theory: There are a lot of people who are heroes and sheros...
but here and there you might find one who's wired for Shakti. I think
they act like transmission towers... beaming an invisible love energy to
stabilize the tribe. Whether they enter a room or address a large public
gathering, suddenly it's no longer a cannibal-eat-cannibal world; It's a
cannibal-love-cannibal world. Instantly we are no longer cannibals... we
are something new.
There are a lot of awakened people on this list, but many of us, myself
included, are still dealing with "stuff." We have issues... we're still
shaky on our feet... all of our strings are not quite in tune yet. But
I'll bet there's a handful of Kelly type Kundalites here. And like her,
they'd be the last one's to admit it... with grace comes humility.
Well, tomorrow's festival day again. Tonight some of the artists
gathered at a local club (she's also sings in a band when she's not in
training). My friend was sitting next to me, getting into the music when
she broke into her strange movements. I thought to myself, "Kelly, quit
spazzing out. You're embarrassing me... you're in public... put a lid on
that energy."
But then I thought again. Some people are stiff, pompous, "pillars" of
the community... open any newspaper and see their faces.
But then there are the true movers and shakers ;-) they are the
transformers of the tribe. Transforming Goddess' energy from within to
without and on into the collective soul with everyone they touch and
everything they do in the work-a-day world. They do great things, but
unlike the Pillars and the Preachers, they have a funny tendency not to
run for office or start religions.
I'm so glad they exist.
We are in the good company of a few mavericks. They're a remarkable
blend of altruism, civility, chop wood/carry water integrity and
mindfulness... all coupled with an ever fluid, colorful spontaneity that
seems to say, "Come dance and grow with me... life is good."
I'm going to sleep well tonight... knowing that there's a *different*
kind of Evolution Revolution going on... in spite of ourselves.
