Which tribes in what part of the world do this?

I thought it goes something like this: The enemy is first killed by a
spear, arrow etc. in a battle for resources or cross tribal politics or
whatever... *then* the ceremonial organ eating occurs.
To have cannibalistic culling as a primary motive seems bizarre. I can
just see one headhunter ambushing another headhunter: He jumps out and
takes a mouthful of the other's arm... "Stop wiggling, Tongo! I'm trying
to weed you from the gene pool!"
This brings us back to the chickens.....
Are we a race gone mad... or what?

I must confess, I'm a bit lost in this thread. But the rest of your
post, Nina, was very thought provoking. I enjoyed it very much.
And thank you for the piece from "The Spell of the Sensuous."
