Subject: [K-list] Inner Alchemy
From: Denise Lyon Anding
On 2001/05/29 08:18, Denise Lyon Anding posted thus to the K-list: Thanks, Hillary,
For article on Synesthesia.
Thanks, Harsha,
For article on Epic of Gilgamesh.
Thanks, Christopher,
For thoughts on (inner) Persistence.
We all must have been thinking along the same lines this past day! (It's that ol' synchronicity thing...)
I was searching on the subject of "mystics" (since it came up here on this site).
Up popped the versions of Christian, Islamic, and Taoism.
Taoism was of interest since I had lived in Taiwan as a teenager during one of my father's assignments as a chemical engineer. I was exposed to all manner of things Chinese. Also, bothered to death the Chinese herbalists and business men and street prostitutes and monks, peppering them with questions only a curious teenager could do. They were incredibly gracious and excited that I was so interested in who they were as people and their way of doing things rather than trying to convert them to "all things American." I learned their mindset, albeit a convoluted one.
So, what did this search lead me to? Yet another facet of what Hillary, Harsha, and Christopher were speaking about! Inner Alchemy. Inner Transformation.
Found an article the people on this list may find interesting. It is the "Secret Fire: The Relationship between Kundalini Kabbalah and Alchemy" by Mark Stavish.
The address is: http://www.levity.com/alchemy/secret-fire.html
If for some reason you can't connect here is the home page: http://www.levity.com/alchemy/home.html (Glasgow, Scotland?)
This is a huge site. Have only begun to digest some of what I found. Most interested in what the rest of you think about this article and anything else you find here.
Remember, whatever is here, we don't have to believe it all blindly. I scan a lot of information and only glean what I require for the moment, storing the rest for a possible "resonance" in the future, even if it's ten years later. There is symbolism, allegory, history and all sorts of what I call "trigger goodies." Triggers to get us thinking along a certain line or triggers to pull up a memory, a conversation twenty years ago, whatever. Let me know what all of you think about this "inner alchemy" no matter from what perspective. Have always felt every person has great worth and that every person has something to teach or remind others. And this is one large happy collective of about 600 people strong! There are many gems here on this site. We are all involved in this inner transformation together and have lots to share.
Thank you!
Much Love Joy and Peace to You All,
Denise
