Norma, I agree with your point entirely. Mystress Angelique
made the same point in a more specific, detailed version
just recently, and it's wonderful to discover myself in the
company of people I find myself agreeing with so completely.
I would like to suggest an interesting quest. If one has
been on this list or any other where the archives are open
and public and they have posted frequently, there is a thing
one can do to be creative and get to gnow themselves better.
Or...even Christopher.
Go to the archives and started making copies of all your
posts. Then, mine them for statements you have made about
others...and yourself. It doesn't even have to be about
humans. It can be remarks about things. Same result.
With the idea being that you separate the complimentary
remarks from the not so complimentary remarks. When you have
separated them out as much as possible you should have a
list of the qualities about yourself that you think are
good, and another list of the qualities about yourself that
are less than wonderful. The contents of both lists are
areas you might want to take a look at and see if you can
discover the source of why you have come to these
conclusions.
Could be anywhere, anybody, anything. Who knows? It takes a
lifetime to amass all this stuff. This shadow bag could be
the source of all your troubles and ills in the world. I.E.,
Pandora's Box. YOUR Pandora's Box.
I'll tell you why I think this is so, and it is just as SO
for me as anybody else. A clever person (like all the people
on this list ;-)) can do the same thing you can. They can
take your stuff and make a list of what you like about
yourself and what you don't like about yourself. Then, they
possess the truth of how you think about yourself straight
from the horse's mouth...YOURS! For the people who are less
than ethical..like...all the people on this list...and every
other "list" in the world, they can control your life.
Easily!
How could they do that (You're supposed to be asking by
now)?
They can take the facets of your personality that you like
and find ways to use the exact phrases you used to describe
others, to compliment YOU when you do things they approve
of; and then take the facets or qualities about yourself you
don't like, and use the exact same phrases you used to
punish YOU if you are not cooperating. Between flattering
you and punishing you...they got you by the short hairs.
If you are not motivated to eradicate the judgements you
make about others, or if you're just lazy or a naturally
idolent person, or a procrastinator who keeps putting
off...then don't do it with your stuff. Do it to other
people! It's lots of fun, a hell of a source of gossip and
inuendo, and can make sex as hot as you like it. I mean,
they asked for it by advertising their likes and
dislikes..right? It'll be the life of Riley, until you do it
long enough to recognize it's being done to YOU!
When you are skilled enough doing it to other people to
recognize it's being done to you...you'll get your ass in
gear...or remain a victim ...until somebody goes just a
little too far having fun with your stupidity...and you
become the star of some kind of a snuff film.
