From: Pepper J. Baxter
On 2001/05/05 00:26, Pepper J. Baxter posted thus to the K-list: Hummmm! Nez Pierce. Means pierced nose. They were the ones who bread a new
breed of horse called Appaloosa. They usually had a light color with a dark
blanket on their rump with light spots within the boarder of the blanket.
Also other variations. White with spots all over the bod was called a Leopard
"Appy", Appaloosa. A lot of the first breeding for color/spot trys produced a
big "hammerhead" look to their heads. What do the Nez Pierce have to do with
your post? Just wondered. Made me homesick from years ago! Pepper
