Subject: [K-list] Quotes
From: Denise Lyon Anding
On 2001/05/02 17:30, Denise Lyon Anding posted thus to the K-list: Here is part of my belief system.
Rules are meant to be broken. Most of them. Most can be viewed as limited thought forms trying to restrict the Infinite. (They never succeed.) They can also be viewed as simple guidelines to provide structure to an endeavor, a daily one. That is where they can prove useful. At some point, most people grow past limited thought forms and discover a greater awareness. What a joyful day!
That said, here is my suggestion. (What can I say? I would rather cough up one of my cat's hairballs than declare the word "rule." You may grin and/or chuckle heartily at this juncture.)
How about this idea? "Let us" (give permission to) not quoting other people unless one strict condition has been met: unless we have honestly lived it. Without that, we can never completely understand those seemingly profound quotes without applying/absorbing it into our daily life. All we end up doing is confusing or irritating the other 500 people on this list who are left wondering why we quoted that long passage in the first place.
Forgive me. I am forever the positive pragmatist.

Love to all, Denise
