Not at all....But it would be more appropriate and productive to focus on
the
understanding of possible fears in that doctor... .. whether female or
male...and not bring into that conflict more confusion with the old gender
thing...It is that type of communication that adds conflict to
conflict...and
will never see resolution by continuing to support splits....

Hello -
I've just recently joined the list and here I am, jumping into the fray
before I introduce myself. But from the description, there definitely WAS a
gendered aspect to the encounter -- for a male doctor to look at a woman's
throat and immediately and without solicitation make reference to
heterosexual sexual encounters, either implies he thinks the cause is
sexually transmitted or is having his own sexual nonsequiter thoughts. The
fact he didn't discuss a possible sexual cause for the affliction with her
pretty much leaves us with the other scenario -- which is kinda gendered by
definition. (Not to discount all of the other doctor patient power dynamics
at play.)
BTW have you been keeping up with you acidophilous? You could be dealing with
some type of thrush . . .
Howdy to all!
X.
