Hi Annemarie and Judy,

Delurking a bit.

One's given names are so important. They can be a real gift.
Think of it this way... there maybe 1000 000 years of lead-up time to your
name. (OK maybe even 10 billion years.)
My brother's first name, Bartholomew (Bart), we found out, was used in our
family at least from 1537, from father to son... they were all shoemakers,
(hehehe) except for my brother... (ha!)
My first name originated in our family from Southern France, from somewhere
during the time of the freedom fighters from the Spanish hegemony (Prince
William of Orange). The British prince William is named well, has not much
to do with William the *Conqueror*. William comes from the Latin Wilhelmus,
French Guillaume, from Guillio-Helm (German Helmut). So a king or prince or
anybody with that name is supposed to be someone who can lead (helmsman on a
ship) towards freedom, peace and happiness. Guillio = Wille....People of
good*will*, peace loving people. Jesus had a son named Julius, Julius Caesar
was an emperor who thought that he brought happiness and joy, he may well
have done that... who knows?

ancestors... nothing wrong with newish first names like Sea or Sky or Amber.
Who gave you your name... what is your function... it's may well be "all in
a name!"
