Usually my mind provides the opposite, or I ask my heart. If you are
good at finding exceptions to rules, then you are halfway there. Most
opposites are easy to find, self evident. Some opposites are harder to
find, like, what is the opposite of a lily? Or a diamond? However, it is
mostly applied to beliefs and ideas, mental stuff... and the human brain
has an automatic matching and sorting system that can usually find the
opposite of something right away. Ask yourself, and the answer comes.
Some take more pondering. Like most people would say hatred or anger is
the opposite of love.. but those are passionate emotions. You have to care
about something in order to work up hatred or anger about it. Apathy is the
opposite of love.. not caring. In a way, unconditional love is the opposite
of passionate love. Unconditional love is an emotionless state.. but it is
not apathy. Passionate love has conditions of attachment, and
un-conditional is without conditions.

Yes, it is very similar. The same, even.

There are no perfect rules. I have three beliefs that I call rules,
because I have personally validated them over and over.. but you can find
validation for almost anything you truly believe in.. so my validation is
not proof. Those three rules are
Free Will is Goddess Law.
Love is all that Is.
What you put out comes back multiplied.
I believe in them, because the belief serves me. Shapes my reality in
positive ways. Other people might believe there is no love in the world, no
Goddess, and their actions are not connected to their results.
I have a few others, like "What you resist, persists" and "The road to
hell is paved with good intentions", but they are more cliches, than rules.
They are shorthand for more complex ideas.. I have essays that explain them
fully. They work for me, but I don't know if they work for everyone.
All the rest.. opinions, beliefs. Even the so called rules of physics,
like gravity can be broken. Bumblebees and levitation. Newton creates so
called "Laws" of physics, Einstein broke them and created new ones. He
wrote that he had to throw out all the old rules, to come up with E-MC2.
I've got a friend who freaks out doctors because she has no heartbeat
quite often. I've been known to stop breathing for brief periods of time.
so, even rules like, if your heart stops beating, you die.. are not
actually rules, at all. Only beliefs.
Hope that clarifies.. Blessings....
