Subject: [K-list] School Attacks

Dear Valerie,

There must be something to this... I am experiencing the same kind of
adversarial situation from my school and child welfare. My child is gifted
and has several diagnoses, and one teacher chose to emotionally abuse him
during class. My son responded by displaying Obsessive/Compulsive - like
behaviors as his frustration had nowhere to go. He has great difficulty in
expressing his feelings or even recognizing them in a social setting. This
aspect is leading me toward believing he may have Asperger's disorder, but I
cannot tell without knowing exactly what took place in that classroom. During
my inquiry, I became subject of a parental abuse investigation, which was
concluded as my son having OCD, which is not accurate, and they then wanted
to medicate him on prozac. Since I refused, they threatened to have me
arrested with medical neglect. I then wrote a summary of what I think is
taking place via the teacher's incitement, plus a 4 year summary of how I
have taken care of my son's disorders, and the very positive result (straight
A's and many awards and perfect test scores)... two days later they want to
do a psych evaluation on me, suspecting I have Munchhouser's disorder.
Meanwhile, my son is still being mistreated in the classroom, and he is in
danger of being removed from his home. I have tamed his response to this
problem and he is doing better now, but the witch hunt has not ended.

I hope you are not having similar difficulties. People's ignorance can become
a serious problem. Thank goodness I journal everything, and attorneys are
monitoring and poised to sue the school district or I would be coming unglued
here.
