From Norse mythology comes the story of Ragnarok. This is the final
battle of men and gods that will precede Fimbulwinter. Fimbulwinter is
the final winter that is the destruction of the earth. After
Fimbulwinter there is a general rebirth into a heavenly world.
One school of thought is that there may or may not be an actual
Ragnarok as such. However there is Ragnarok for the individual. That
is that a person may go through great inner turmoil, suffer through a
'dark night of the soul', and then awaken into a new way of seeing and
being.
When I posted doomsday it was as much for fun as for information.
Ever since Jesus said he was coming back and despite him saying he
would 'come like a thief in the night' and that no one knows the hour
or the day - many have been forthright in declaring the EXACT day
Jesus would return. And they have been wrong on the money every time.
All of the great mythologies of the world have some type of end of the
world scenario. I consider them all myths. Included is Christianity,
Jewish, Hindu, Moslem, Buddhist and so on. Myths aren't bad. They can
be teaching stories. Read the works of Jospeh Campbell for more on how
myths function in human society.
During the awakening process the individual will experience a
'personal' end of the world. And a rebirth into a new way of life.
For me everything that I believed in dropped away. I saw how
everything I believed in didn't amount to anything. My mind/intellect
couldn't grasp it and my ego wanted to deny it.
Within the space of a few seconds a mere twinkling of the eye. For a
time I couldn't even remember my name! It was too funny. I had to take
out my driver's license to see what my name was. :-)
I was reborn into a new life. But I am not special. No one is 'the
messiah' we all have the messiah inside of us at all times. We are all
the god we seek. We are not a part of god - we are god.
So if we are god, goddess if you prefer (god has no gender by the
way), why does all this shit happen? Why is there war and suffering
and pain and evil and all the bad mean people? Well, why not? Hmmmm?
Why not? What kind of play has no villans? :-)
After awakening/enlightenment you will still have a mind/ego/body.
However, it won't matter. Hell's bells and little fish-hooks - you
won't know if you gained awakening or if awakening gained you. I
thought that I was doing it. I wasn't, it was doing me. I, like you,
am after all only an illusion! :-)
