Huh. I wondered, myself why I put that in there.. but I guess it was
perfection.. it hit a nerve. The heart of the issue.

You are part native, you already told me you don't want to give up the
stuff. Do you really want to give up your computer, your modern home, etc?
Nobody can change what our ancestors did.. but blame solves nothing.
Victimhood does not empower anyone.

The natives don't have any monopoly on that. It has happened all over
the world, to cultures through out history. It happened to my own Celtic
heritage, as well. Christianity at swordpoint, witches burned. Many of my
distant relatives who stayed in Europe ended up in Siberia, courtesy of Stalin.
Most cultures didn't respond with suicide. To be human, is to adapt.

Yup. Happens all over.. happened to the entire population of China..
Tibet, the list is long.

Talk to the Jews who survived the Holocaust.

Nobody forces anybody to drink. In Canada it used to be illegal to
sell alcohol to a native... the natives complained, it was
unconstitutional.. so now it is legal again. Do realize, the history of
native contact in Canada is very different than that of the US.

> And there is

All this, from someone who said they didn't want to make anybody feel
guilty.. are you sure? Sure sounds like you do, to me. What is all this
really about, then?
What is the point, of clinging to an attitude of victimhood, except to
make people feel guilty, to wield the sword of the righteousness of
victims? Whom does it serve?

Plains natives did, so did the Inuit, in summer. You want to have your
cake and eat it too..

I have never encountered as much anti-white racism, as I did, visiting
my native friend. I triggered all kinds of ancient negative black magic
booby trap shit set up by long dead disgruntled Shamans, simply by virtue
of my European DNA. It was a surprise to me, because there was no
prejudice, on my side. Now you are spewing more of the same.. not magic,
just the same old same old .. Gratitude heals. Go ahead and downplay the
value of central heating.. you don't want to go backwards, but you don't
put any value on what was given.

> When do we live side by side with respect and
>celebration of our differences?

Good question. Do you think it is possible, when one side keeps blaming
the other for their condition? All this good guy bad guy stuff.. it's not
coming from the white folks. Here in BC the government is spending billions
in reparation.. how much acknowledgement do you want? Then the natives turn
around and start logging on the lands they received back.. go figger. They
go fishing when there is a ban on fishing to protect the dwindling supply,
just because it is their "right".. co-operation has to work both ways.

> Why can't we see the beauty in the
>differences instead of fearing them? With confusion, Vickie

Why indeed? Who is afraid? Who is claiming victimhood? Whom does it
serve?
Be well, Vickie.. look for perfection. Blessings...
