I hope you get some helpfull answers as I find myself in exactly the
same situation and can identify very clearly with the pros and cons you have
stated.
My friend has not yet got to the point of view that being contented comes
from within. Nothing being needed though it is enjoyed when it does happen.
Anne equates being loved with being needed and I endevour to explain that I
love her without great need or expectation. One book that was very helpfull
to us both is called "In the Mean Time" by Lyanla Vanzant which talks of
love self first. Well I got that far but try explaining to a loving woman 18
years your junior that she is a close second to the God within ie Self.
Oh well I am extremely fortunate to have her love so why should I be
concerned. You tell me.
