Dear Kalipadma,
I should have said more, the linguist that I was referring to, was also an
archeologist and was speaking in terms of our very first utterances as
humans... University of Florida. The text is around here somewhere, too...
There are a lot of blank spaces in between things I do remember, I have
memory loss similar to keys missing on the typewriter keyboard... please,
bear with me... the lists are my means to stimulate my neurons and I have
been getting much better by being active on them, in spite of intermittant
foolishness... This topic has not been something I actively persued, and I am
only repeating what she said that I do remember clearly, so I apologize that
I cant speak with any kind of confidence...
During my single conversation with this woman, there was no differentiation
about reading right to left during this discussion -- at the time we were
discussing several other Matriarchal issues of more concern to me. However,
as parts I do remember, there are three languages on the crucifix, Hebrew,
Greek, and Armaiec... (please dont ask me to spell this) so, I guess a person
can just go look at it themselves...
She was reading the phrase not translating the word... "The He and the She"
in the bible version following the Tydale, (or was it that version?) the
tydale I think she said is the most wanted version which only one copy was
and is in someone private possession, and restricted in being shared in
Toronto, Canada, tied up in some ugly censorship politics that were too
complex for me to follow...
The HE theory is coming from a large group who are working together and
following and reading all these versions scattered around the world. Perhaps
she is reading handwritten versions that go farther back than the printed
version you spoke of...

Eeeek! Cleo-kitty, you are confusing a wide variety of very different
languages.
I don't have time to dig out my Sanskrit grammar, but the Sanskrit
language has a particular order to its letters. And the letters are
syllabic -- by which I mean each letter is either a vowel, or a consonent
and a vowel. Hindus often argue that the first sound a baby makes is MA!
Even in Sanskrit, it means Mother.
The four letters <usually> marked on the crucifix are not Yod-He-Vov-He
("...and God is just a four-letter word..."). They are Latin letters
I-N-R-I, for Iesus Nazarene, Rex Iudeum (or something very like that --
Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.) When I was a kid I was told it
stood for "I'm Nailed Right In..."
Kabballists play with all sorts of meanings of Yod-He-Vov-He; four
elements, four directions, etc. and one interpretation is the conjoining
of Mother and Father. These ARE the consonents of the Unspeakable Name,
however (Hebrew does not write vowels, except in practice forms for
students). The usual attempt to pronounce it comes out something like
Yehovah. I don't know any of the usual names of God that begin with
"He." If your mother's friend has been studying for so long, I can't
believe that she wouldn't know that Hebrew is read from right to left.
If she read it like English, from left to right, the four letters would
begin with He.
I sincerely doubt that even if there were an unknown God-name beginning
with "He," that it would be interpreted as the English word He (male
pronoun). Weren't the first printed Bibles in Europe done by Gutenberg?
What does "He" mean in German?
