I have noticed that similar dreams tend to run in my family.

When I was given ether as an anesthetic as a child, before having a
tonsilectomy, I saw a graceful, long-legged and long-armed female dancer
(sort of a cross between Martha Graham and Olive Oyl) turning cartwheels
while in a long silk dress.

When I told my mother, her mouth fell open -- she had the same vision
every time she'd been anesthetized.

In college, I had a recurring nightmare of being chased by a lion. I
would wake in a cold sweat, heart pounding. These dreams continued for
many years, until I moved to Flushing, NY and started attending the Hindu
Temple there. I had a sudden epiphany, while kneeling before the
Goddess' shrine, of being Her vehicle, a lion. (My birth name is
Leonard, meaning "lion-strong.") Having accepted my role, the nightmares
stopped.

But years later, my younger sister confessed to having recurring
nightmares of being chased by a lion, during the same period of time!
(She did not know of my experience.)
