Yes, when I try to advocate as a victim's advocate, I talk about the "Big V"
imprinted on a victim's forehead before a perpetrator picks them out of the
crowd. Interesting to think that a predator goes around picking out who he
wants to do something to... well of course in our context it is even more
than that... but the point I want to bring out, is that some walk around with
this big brand on their forehead so to speak... and until they get it off
through reconceiving their self image or self notion, they seem to be
remarkably singled out of the crowd and subject to repeat vitimizations
compared to others...

Once this point is made to them, the choice becomes an awareness and I find
people able to change that uncanny frequency that they had experienced
earlier.

I really am not sure all that transpires to make this change come about, any
more than conscious awareness... and maybe that is all that was necessary...
but I do know that explaining it did change it -- and many many times over
the years.

I talk about "The Big V" and other counselors just respond "why is that?" to
their client's explanation that people keep doing things to them... still
pretty much covers the same thing...
