I think the fad in some New Age circles is to blame the victim for being
unconscious of the unity of the Web (or of living in duality, whatever).
It's easy & convenient to blame the sick, the poor, the raped, the hungry
children, etc.
However, many enlightened people have also died tragically (or at least, in
less than "ideal" ways).
Aren't we all connected in some way? Isn't the 4th miracle of mindfulness
(as per Thich Nhat Hanh) the relieving of the other's suffering?
Chaotic events happen regardless of the level of consciousness. It is the
nature of the Web. Energy, like any other current, simply flows & ebbs.
Sometimes we are 100% in synch, sometimes not quite.
But, it is we, who can try to make a difference, because we are all (to
some extent) responsible the current state of wordly affairs. Aren't the
BOBO's spending $25,000 on SUV's, even though they think it's déclassé to
spend that same amount of money in a sports car? Is our culture consuming
mindfully the riches of the Earth?

Having blabbered my two cents worth before, I now want to go on & say that
your statement reminded me that my boyfriend accompanied me during my
travels last year (where I engaged in a "payment to the Earth" ritual, with
him at my side.) Previous to that, we had talked about K a lot (he's
Christian & my viewpoint is rather novel to him, in this life at least.)
Shortly after we returned, a truck almost killed him (Angelique knows the
story) and he's still recuperating (he walks with a slight limp now).
Coincidence or synchronicity? Karma speeding up? S--- happening?
Or just simple life (that incredibly wonderful & many splendoured horror
we call life)?
