Alas, it will happen. The "bad man" is named Time, and he will kill
this little girl through a process called "puberty". The process has
its consolations, however!

The little girl may be taking on mom's or other
people's fears about adolescence, the
(consequences of the) awakening of sexuality etc. Some positive
comments about the joys of being older (freedom, independence, etc.)
might reassure her.
