This statement resonates with my own understanding, that mind creates the
illusion and it is not reality. I have experienced that understanding
directly. To know mind in its nakedness is to still sensory input. In its
nakedness there is all knowledge, and also pure love, compassion, empathy,
understanding, peace, joy, bliss. It is the senses and attachment to the
body which create illusion.

I find I experience emotion in a calmer way, so as not to be overwhelmed by
any emotion but rather to observe it more objectively. Perhaps it comes with
no longer placing such a high value on experiences in the physical plane, or
rather no longer accepting the ordinary mind and emotions as oneself. Having
experienced a state of being which is above the ordinary mind and emotions,
I no longer take the mind and emotions too seriously, realizing that much of
their perceptions are illusion based. However, love, compassion for others,
empathy, tolerance, and understanding increase. These are not just ordinary
emotions but rather come from some other depth and broader perception of
reality.
