What you say makes me think of things like:
ah, but a true warrior is not so hard that she does not see a child
crying. I think the warrior is just beginning to grow up :).
the martial way will push you to walk across hot coals, take baths in
ice-covered rivers, and then confront you with your inner demons, crying
children, and tears.
But the tears we cry are not our own, they are the tears of limitless
heart and openness. Oneness.
Armor does not need ot be taken off, it simply is put on when needed,
discarded when not. Armor born of fear, yes, that should be discarded, but
armor born of confidence, wisdom and compassion is something to be
treasured.
In tai chi, the sword has a silk scarf hanging on its pommel. The soft
counter to confuse the path of the hard weapon.
The true warrior cries before a battle, fights like the best one on the
field in the midst, and then returns to peaceful.. all as needed in any
situation she faces.
