Subject: [K-list] thoughts...vs language
From: Cleocatras
On 2001/01/10 01:57, Cleocatras posted thus to the K-list: I know long stretches of time go by when there is no one but Goddess and the
walls that understand me. I feel I get all bound up and then when there
finally is someone worth communicating with, I literally have a major vowel
movement. Seems like the words just accellerate in their own rhetoric with
momentum of their own, turning to shit because I just plain got too excited.
Within my own thoughts, all major conversations just seemed to "habitually"
need their own major crescendo... when in reality, it may just be the design
of language itself.
After a few famous blunders (which Angelique will remember).. I now just
understand that excitement does not have to have any words at all...
After all... words are only a very limited invention to express so many
things outside of what language has the capacity to describe...
Schramm, a mass communications theorist explained that our world becomes
limited by language itself, as we develop into beings that can only think
within the confines of combinations of meaningful sounds (and letters -- ie,
words).
