Hey Paul,
Thanks for the mellow and understanding response.
...Interesting. I just got a tic right below and just to the left of my
third eye. Never felt anything quite like that.
Anyhow, I often feel like I have one foot planted in science/intellect
and the other in spirituality/intuition. I think that is right for me
as I seem to be here in part to "bridge" between different worldviews
and facets of all that is. So sometimes I see and speak mainly from
one, sometimes from the other and sometimes from the place where
synthesis and creation of the new that is both and neither is or is
attempting to form.
On occassion it seems to me that much of the old ways and legends make
perfect sense if one posits a higher level of technology (that includes
both what we call technology today and the fullest knowing of what we
call spirituality) than we yet know that was somehow lost. What
remains is remnants of what was known that have been twisted over the
ages into things only partially true with a great deal of superstition,
imagination and untestable assumptions added in along with breaking of
the whole into many warring camps. We are not seeing only primitive
attempts at knowing but regressed memories of knowing. Or so it
sometimes seems to me. Our very technology and science is heading us
straight into a future where purely selfish materialistic models of
right human action will not work. We are headed for a time, straight
out of the most materialistic science, where we will literally all
communicate mind to mind with perfect clarity, be able to cure all
bodily ills, be in charge of our own genomes/evolution and be able to
create almost any physical thing imaginable out of what will seem like
"thin air". In short we will have much of the power abrogated to gods.
The great huge missing piece is also gaining the wisdom to do aught but
destroy ourselves and this beautiful world with such powers. With that
wisdom we can reach a new Heaven and a New Earth.
In any case these abilities are coming. Their calling cards are already
on the table and too many of the side-effects of their coming are lusted
after by too many of the powers of the day for them to not be brought
fully forth. As it was, so it is again. Atlantis rises again with all
that is good and ill attendant. We need new vision, new dreams and a
new unity if we are going to pull the pieces of humanity into something
that grows its wings this time instead of descending into the long dark
yet once again.
