Dear Tom,
Your words prompted me to question, why the silence? The answer is that the
ordinary mind is a tool useful for navigating this plane of consciousness
but can be a tyrant also. Those who are silent have learned that excessive
stimulation of the mind, through talk or intellectualization, clouds the
vision. It only throws up dust clouds and hinders true knowledge seeping in.
All knowledge about this plane of existence is useful but also irrelevant.
The silent ones are reluctant to be stimulated excessively, by the senses,
or the receiver of the sense data, the mind. The mind is the creator of the
illusion through sense data. And yet the silent ones will on occasion
communicate; usually some mystical comment no one else wants to hear! and
leads to strange looks cast upon the strange speaker of such comments.
However, that is not the reason for silence, but rather the wish not to
overly engage the mind, which is basically a tool deigned to navigate in
this plane. When all is said and done, there is little to say. Knowledge
comes through a source other than the mind. It is in stilling the mind and
senses that true knowledge comes.

I believe our reverent Serpent Mystress also knows this.
