"The moon last night was amazing!! Huge and radiant, bright enough to
read by, with a giant ring of light around it. Wish I could have gotten a
picture!"
|It was a glowing bright silver here--with a couple of very bright stars
|nearby. Wonder-ful!
The couple of bright stars near the moon are not stars at all.
Those are Jupiter (the brightest of the two) and Saturn.
The two giant friends choose to meet once every twenty years.
This year, they chose to meet in Taurus.
A full moon happened to come along....
I have been marveling too at this very bright trio...
...a quartet, actually, because earlier in the evening, Venus is also very
bright in the west sky, chasing after the Sun who just went down.
For the last few days, once the sun is gone, one could marvel at the four
brightest bodies aligned in the sky, from west to east: Venus, the Moon,
Saturn and Jupiter.
Quite a show!
Yours,
Augustin.
