I absolutely agree it really helps to "ease it!" and desacralize it :)) .
But of course, Ramana Maharshi was special, for the very reasons you
state--that he didn't seem to see himself as special or holy or apart from
anyone else. But he certainly could beautifully cut through to basic
"understanding." His was a rare ability to teach the fact that we are all,
already "there."
