Hello everyone,
I have just discovered this very interesting board, and I confess I haven't
read a lot of the postings becasue I'm so anxious to put my question to you.
I will try to be succinct but it's not my own experience so in telling it
secondhand I hope I can do an adequate job.
My name is Catherine and for the past five years (approximately) my partner
has been having what SOUNDs to me like Kundalini experiences. I am not
knowledgeable in this area but having studied religion at university and
worked several years in an occult shop, I have had some exposure to the
phenomenon, at least the concept of it.. (I am currently focused on working
as a practitioner of bodywork for companion animals, studying canine
nutrition and herbalism, raising my three dogs and nursing one sick one,
working for breed rescue. Also writing a book on my own transformative
experiences which came - you guessed it - through my relationships with
animals. :) I follow the work of Dion Fortune and practise a very esoteric
and partially self-developed form of Western Mystery tradition.) At any
rate, my partner is not an overtly spiritual person - at least not by his
own definition - but he is a very contemplative, nature-mystic personality;
and he is interested in esoterica in a casual fashion. One evening he woke
me up to say that - please don't laugh - a scene he was watching in, of all
things, Star Trek triggered an overwhelming sensation which he could not
describe very well but seemed to be both physical and intensely emotional.
He said it began in the base of the spine and shot to the top of his head.
He was as close to frightened as I think I have ever seen him (he's very
calm by nature.)
and very curious to discover what it might mean and why it had happened to
him.
Since then he has had many more of these experiences, all triggered by such
things as the X-files.(Always by tv or movies as far as I can recall.) If he
watches a scene that initiated the first experience for a second time - he
has the feeling again. Often the scenes that trigger the episodes are
related to cosmic struggle between good and evil. He says he feels a higher
knowledge come over him but cannot truly articulate what that knowldege is.
AS a child this man had repeated experiences he calls being "caught in
static" - often in dreams but occasionally in semi-waking states. He felt he
was being crushed or torn apart in some sort of whitenoise - horrible. At
least these more recent events are not as traumatic.
I do apologize for the length of this description, and also for its
vagueness - but any insights, questions etc anyone has for me are more than
welcome. Could these events be kundalini experiences? If so, what are the
implications for him - why would they happen spontaneously, what should he
do to better understand their purpose? If not, what else might they be?
I am most happy to have found a place to discuss this. Afraid I spend all my
spare time on dog boards these days! :)
