Yes.. Well, it seemed like it came looking for me...I certainly tried
to avoid it for long enough.. :)

Yes, you've got it nailed. This Archetype's universe is made of such
human imaginings and bogeyman projections. So many stories.. many of them
alien SF imaginings of "Killer Robots from Venus"... etc. The Matrix, the
Borg, the Daleks, Data, Mike from "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress", silly TV
series ad infinitum about robot cops.. The list goes on and on.
All these stories were flowing thru my mind for weeks, as the Machine
mind Archetype integrated itself thru me... or as I integrated myself thru
the archetype/metaphor/role play of the Machine... depending on how you
look at it.
A few nights ago, I took a TV brain break from writing that post and
watched a couple of episodes of Star Trek Voyager. The reflection gave me
evidence that I'm not done yet.
Both episodes focused on 7of 9, the ex-borg beauty. She is my favorite
character, and the funny thing is when she first came on the show I was
surprised because a lot of people commented to me that she reminded them of
me! One of my stalkers even sent me TV guide covers with her on it.. really
made me wonder how I am seen.. :?
One episode had 3 ex-borg who had been part of 7 of 9's group of 9
trying to retrieve memories from her because somehow she had embedded them
into a hive mind of 3 when she was still with the Borg and they were
desperate to regain their individuality and have privacy o their thoughts..
....interesting reflection of the post to Wendy..
In the other, the Doctor, who is a computer generated hologram takes
over the body of 7 so they can escape capture. It is a collision of
personalities because the hologram Dr. is a passionate being but he is a
computer simulation of a human, and 7 is a human who thinks like a
computer, focused on efficiency. He is into art and opera and she won't eat
anything but efficient nutritional supplements. They get in a fight
because the Doctor accuses 7 of being less human than he is and she is
flipped out at feeling his lust for a woman.. it is very funny. At the end
7 gets the message that being human is also about pleasure and drinks
champagne..
I was delighted to see such a synchronous and timely reflection of my
work with the Machine mind. After all, we see the archetypes as reflections
of who we are. They are a part of us, through the collective. Understanding
the machine mind helped me to better understand my own humanity. Changing
the Machine mind changes me.. and ripples outward thru Maya..
There are other stories tho.. There is a great futurist Assimov story
about some technicians who were trying to figger out why the giant computer
that controls human commerce and government keeps inexplicably messing up..
they finally realize that it does it because humans need "shit happens" to
thrive.
That story was reflected in an "Outer Limits" episode recently where a
computer that controls security and everything else in a luxury apartment
goes berserk, forcing the isolated humans to band together to defeat it. In
the end it explains the same message: that people need challenge to thrive,
without it they had become very isolated and lazy. Reflected again in the
Matrix.. the Matrix dream world was harsh because the Matrix had discovered
that humans don't thrive in comfort. They generated more electricity from
the bodies of scared stressed humans who were forced to draw on their
creative resources.
This in turn generated an insight about why Microsoft is so successful
even though it crashes inexplicably so often. I explained it druid the
dedicated linux geek (Linux never crashes) and my scientist friend when he
came by for tea, recently.
druid hates Microsoft and often comments about how if people had cars
that sometimes mysteriously stopped for no reason and had to be restarted,
nobody would put up with it. (I have had cars like that, actually..) My
scientist friend is a genius but he refuses to get a new computer because
he doesn't trust a machine that can think faster than him.
druid said, "But Microsoft is mostly purchased by people who don't want
to think..."
:) Yes, exactly. It's perfection. Goddess has it handled.
So long as machines are not dependable, we can never become wholly
dependent on them. The Machine Mind is an expression of Divine Will, too..

Yes, I would like to see it.
The really interesting part of the journey was indeed, the issues of
control and free will. At first I was quite annoyed at the Machine's
apparent total lack of respect for Free Will, it's attempts to control via
the implants. Even in the first dream, the thing was following it's "Good
intentions" and I tried to surrender to it, but it's efforts were painful
and controlling. My efforts to remove them were ineffective and I might
have seen then, that Goddess would not take them because She gave them to
me in the first place... but I was already caught in my resistance.
When I got past that, it was apparent that the machine did not respect
free will because it didn't understand the concept. It had been created to
be our slave and it was doing it's best to be what *it* thought we wanted
it to be, as demonstrated by our SF bogeyman projections.

Yep.. and last season Scully got a black and red oroborus tattoo and
now is having awakening experiences. Art imitates life imitates art
imitates life and if truth is stranger than fiction then anything can
happen and often does.

Yes indeedy.. thankyou.
:) Sometimes it gets a little wilder than I'd prefer, but it's sure not
boring.
Thanks for your comments.. Blessings!
