i vote to keep attachments off of the list... especially HTML files, which
clutter up the digests terribly and make them very difficult to read (and
even more difficult to create the edited version of list)... it is quite
simple to cut and paste any attachments into an email, or just give an url
to where the material can be read...

files can also be added to the list's file section, such as Wim has done
with so much of his great material... then it is simple to just announce the
addition of file with a simple post that includes the url...

also, i personally prefer email that is not jazzed up with fancy HTML...
next thing you know, folks will be programming MIDI files to some of their
email... i have seen this done before, and it is very annoying...
