Subject: [K-list] Enlightenment, Self Realisation and Ego

I have been reading the various thoughts on this subject .. and I
would like to throw two cents worth into the ring.
Enlightenment
has been defined as bringing to the light of consciousness,
that which is down in the subconscious and unconscious mind
running you without your being aware of its existance.
In Western Mysticism,
the subconscious/unconscious are seen by most as that area outside
of the physical body. This is because of the emphasis by religious
tradition that spirit "lies out side". This is why the "Holy Spirit"
is seen to descend .. and the rising of the spirit within
(the serpent)has been made very wrong.
In Eastern Mysticism
the subconscious/unconscious are seen by most as the area within
the physical body. This is why "Spirit" in the form of Kundalini
is seen to ascend.
For the Western Genetic Spirituality, Enlightenment is seen as a
"Frash of Light" or "Illumination"
Whereas
For Eastern Genetic Spirituality, Enlightenment is seen as the end
result of the rising of the Kundalini ..
Self Realisation
occurs when the conscious and sub/unconscious merge and the
"mind chatter" ceases. At this point, the "mind" descends to the
Heart. For the Western Mystic, this cannot occur until the Physical
Body (the source of unconscious mind and memories) has been cleared
of all imputities.
This is already done in the Eastern Enlightenment process.
It is interesting to note that, in foetal development, the Physical
Heats starts its journey from a space in the head behind the frontal
lobe .. moving down into the centre of the chest.
This "Void" is still there in adult life, and is the "Void" that many
enter in the "Enlightenment" process .. and many fear because of the
inherent memories awakened.
"The Void" is still energetically connected to the Physical Heart
by the main aorta and an energetic connection.
It is the re-uniting of "The Void" with the "Physical Heart" which
is the end product of Self-Realisation ..
But which can only come after there is a full merging of the
conscious and sub/unconscious minds.
Thus ..
"Enlightenment" is the bringing of the unconscious to the light
of Consciousness ..
and
"Self Realisation" is
Consciousness becoming aware of itself as Consciousness.
Unless this difference between the Eastern and Western mysticism
is fully understood, there will always be difficulty and conflict
for those of Western Spiritual Ancestry as they go through the
Kundalini rising process .. as the fears of this energy are
released from under layers of being made evil by the Church.
Anything less is the realm of Maya.
This inversion of perception of Eastern and Western thought is the
source of so many misunderstandings and conflicts in the debates
on the nature of Kundalini, Enlightenment and Self Realisation.
None of these have anything to do with the mind ..
However ..
There is an ego present both before and after this process ..
Jesus and Buddha both had ego's.
The Ego is the modality of expression of self into the world.
Before Self Realisation, it is the ego of personality driven
by the emotions, seated in the mind, ruled by the unconscious ..
the personal I which says "I think .. therefore I AM"
After Self Realisation, it is the ego of individuality driven
by the immutable element of Fire residing in the Heart ..
which is the fuel of the passion of the expression
"I Am .. therby I am conscious of the thoughts that arise
from within me .."
Without the interface of ego .. and the Kundalini (lifeforce)
we would be very dead. It's what we allow them to do that matters ..
and most of us, most of the time, keep them repressed under
layers of Self Limiting beliefs and learned behaviour
