Subject: [K-list] Apologies
From: Paul Perner
On 2000/11/08 02:03, Paul Perner posted thus to the K-list:
Hello Friends,
This is not a political list, but I've recently had a face to face run
in with the religious intolerance of the Christian political right. It's
not news to anyone here that a "fundie" would think that K awakening,
Serpent Power, is a manifestation of "the devil," but now, for me, it's
hit close to home as a person I truly love has bought into the fear of
evil. It's not doing her any good. We'll get back to this later. I'm
going to need your support and advice.
The reason I'm posting right now is because my country, America, just
elected a president who is backed by the Christian right.
To those on this list who live elsewhere in the world, I'm apologizing
in advance for four years of global corporate agendas, clandestine
military operations, evangelical witch hunts, wholesale pollution,
nuclear bombs...
This is kind of a bummer post and perhaps I shouldn't send it, but I
just need to vent. Thanks.
Paul
PS. I hear a person can live out a decent life for themselves in Canada
and England these days... hmm... makes me think.
