Wim,
You once wrote a post speculating on the origin of the word Kundalini.
Well, in Hindi, which is a derivative of sanskrit, kunda means lock.

Sudipt,
I found this on a large online Sanskrit dictionary. The transliteration
scheme is ITRANS because it's hard to always get diacritical marks used in
rendering Sanskrit transliterations on webpages.
kuNDa = starting place of kundalini
kuNDala = coil of rope, ring
So, the world is related to 'coil' or 'coiling,' related to the tradition
conception of Kundalini as a snake nested around the sthana mulaadhaara
chakra.
