Yes, this happened to a dear one when he was 18. He had to rebuild
his
ego bit by bit so he could function in this world.

It is easy for me to slip into that place but I would not be able to
function in the world according to it's rules and customs if I stayed
there. That place scares me sometimes cause of it's potentiality for
choosing cruelty.(hmmmm...maybe being in that place is all about
choices. practicing discernment i would make more appropriate choices)

What I learned from that is god/dess does not really exists. Not too
many people want to hear that. Or if that does exists it doesn't care
one iota about humans and what they want or do. What I do know that
what is, is perfection. Everything that's left may be just
thoughtforms from mental masturbation.

Just sharing from my experiences.

(no rock throwing at me today please. my massage therapist worked me
over good last night and i don't know if my pain threshhold can
handle
any more ;P )
