Hi Sudipt,

Since you live in India next time you see one ask him how this
practice originated. ;) It might be interesting to know this.

So they consider castratos as androgynous. What about androgynous
women? Do they have any? For what reason are these men becoming
eunuchs?

But we are talking about androgeny in spirit primarily not
necessarily physical.
