This is the tricky part about this whole thing:
The "me" that will be resting in and aligning with, the creative force of
the universe, LOVE, is not the same "me" that started this whole thing. And
once a certain point in the awakening is passed, no return.

There is a sadness. A sadness mixed with joy associated with this. The
mourning of the part of the self that is dying. The touch of joy springing
from knowing that a new consciousness is forming and rising to the surface.
This sadness will disappear too.
