Dear list,

The following "outline" is pretty rough. Any input? Some categories could
be combined, perhaps. Some trigger might be better put in another category
or in more than one. Mess with it any way you'd like, if you're interested.
:))

* = very strong trigger
*ed = Eastern discipline

  Healing (reiki)
  *Sacred places
  Dreaming

*ed=Eastern disciplines.

What I found interesting is that Eastern and other religious disciplines make
conscious use of some aspect of almost all the categories of spontaneous
triggers I came up with i.e.

Concentration = Meditation
Aesthetics = religious art
Relaxation = prayer, ritual
Disorientation =Zen koans (cults use more drastic measures)
Trauma = fasting, flagellation
Breakthrough = Zen
Redirection of sexual energy = Tantra, celibacy
Physical activities = Hatha Yoga, etc.
Breathwork = breathwork

Love, Hillary
