For Haakon (btw, nice mensa site - the test had counted one answer wrong
that was correct in addition to the answer listed as correct), Krystyna and
others similarly situated:
I highly recommend tyrosine, an amino acid, as a supplement to meds that
bring you down. It is a precursor to many neurotransmitters, esp.
norepinepherine and dopamine, and has great energy and mood-enhancing
qualities. I was on for over a year, then cleaned out all but my
prescription med, and in 2 short days back on, have escaped the deprssion
associated with depakote. Cautions - def. consult with a physician, and I
wouldn't recomend anything additional to someone already on a lot of meds.
It is an upper of sorts, though likely more benign than prescription meds,
it can add to the duties of the liver and kidneys. Check out a tyrosine
search on dogpile or some other search engine.
Yay.
