Subject: [K-list] K Pills and Cheap Thrills Poll
From: Druout
On 2000/08/22 12:33, Druout posted thus to the K-list:
Dear List,
To answer this poll myself, I experimented with LSD (twice) , Marijuana
(numerous times with friends recreationally) and Cocaine and mescaline (once
each). during the 60's/70's. Stopped smoking pot in the 70's sometime. My
first psychedelic "trip" occurred when my sister sent us a couple of pot
brownies. Little did we know that she had made them by simmering a kilo of
grass with a pound of butter, and then used this butter to make the batch of
brownies. Sent us flying, to say the least. <grin>
While these experiences helped me somewhat understand what was happening to
me when K hit, there was a time differential of approximately 25 years, so I
doubt there was much of a connection. But who knows. I'd love to hear from
those of us who are K active and never took any drugs at all.
My drug experience(s) *did* cause me to further explore metaphysical and or
religious questions at the time. I listened a lot to Alan Watts and
Krishnamurti on the radio. Both had wonderful voices! The interest waned
over time, until K hit.
So far, 3 people have answered on list, and 11privately (9 yes and 2 no
votes.) Thanks so much, everyone.
Love, Hillary
