Dear List,
Interesting thread............. and i can add <> right here, and
sprinkle in a few IMHO and FWIW etc., etc. right at the beginning ----
It is still not clear to me that one can have 'love' without the possibility
for 'hate' to exist, or that one can develop hate without the seeds of love
having existed. In order to develop such a strong emotion there is of
necessity a strong attachment. This attachment might be very clear as in a
love/hate relationship or it might be buried within our past deep
subconscious or our genetic make-up. One school of thought, is to develop
non-attachment as the way out of this bind. But detachment has its own set
of problems.
Love thy enemy - was poured into my brain at an early age. Perhaps this
goes along with the tough love school that i was put through later in my
life. I do not see the 'love thy enemy' commandment as love canceling out
the actions of your enemies or that a love wave can (given the correct
frequency content) cancel out the 'negative' thoughts actions etc. of the
'enemy'. Such a method of overcoming the will of the enemy by some sort of
brain manipulation is probably all too real and is the opposite of any sort
of love. And if that turns the enemy into a passive peace loving soul is
that good? The suppression of conflict is not necessarily good. If the
whole world were filled with members of the Borg collective then harmony
would exist, the whole would be part of a giant collective - all is one and
one is all. Resistance is futile -
It seems to me that conflict is necessary - it is the way we either, just
experience a drama or movie in our lives, or it is the way we grow and
develop as souls; as part of the ongoing Matrix program that is continuously
played and reinvented throughout all that is. So love your enemy is not to
say that the enemy does not exist but be thank full that you have enemies
and engage in the spiritual battle with joy and respect.
It seems that one lesson of the Gita is that it is impossible to escape from
the role of engaging in the conflict. One must fight whether it is one's
dharma or just because that is the program - that is the game. Your
'enemy' might be your best and only teacher; where you either overcome
obstacles and slay the dragon or you yourself go down in temporary defeat.
What is disconcerting to me is the trend to believe that enemies do not
exist and that if everyone thought peace that peace then would exist. My
dreams and visions and higher self tells me otherwise. But perhaps that is
just an indication of how low my higher self is.
I also am not happy with the world stage as it exists today, with what seems
like tremendous manipulation by the powerful and a world full of souls
lulled into inaction.
So i both love and hate and am full of peace and agitation - i can exist in
the still center of my mind - but realize i did not choose to exist in this
time to empty my mind of thoughts, and to have a serene smile on my face. K
flowing through us brings us into contact with the every flowing thoughts
and mutiple existences in the other dimensions - how do we know if those
thoughts in the other dimensions are not manipulated for our consumption -
when do we peel away all of the layers of the onion - and what are we left
with. Just some thoughts.
Lew
