I know that by picking up on your remark I may get into some trouble
again... But you are so right..., I cannot let this pass. Also... if
solstices and full moons have such an influence on our behaviour as they (?)
say they do, I cannot really prevent myself from writing this, can I? Those
solar and lunar influences are as sure as the tides, are they not? One
cannot stop the tides can one?
Actually I doubt THAT myself quite a bit..., but maybe I should doubt MYSELF
at this point, which attitude could very well be a result of those very
tidal/annual influences...
Oh, where do we stand if we cannot stand on our own???
Dear 'new_searcher', (What is your first name? I would love to know.) the
attitude you are commenting on above, belongs to the "goody goody world" of
moral behaviour that is driven by the dynamics of approval and rejection of
the peer group. The Latin word 'compassio' or the Greek 'sympathos' in
English usually gets translated with words like sympathy or empathy. There
is quite a divergence in meaning between those two words. Whatever word we
use, as long as our compassion does not have a hint of self-interest in it,
is it therapeutic, otherwise it is just a way of nursing one's own or other
people's woundedness. For ppl. who wonder why I just don't lay off of this
subject, I write this to gain some more insight in this issue myself...
Nursing a wound is as bad as poking at a wound or picking at it. Pointing at
a wound (which I believe my intention always is) should not be so painful,
but apparently it is more so maybe because it points at the non-physical
attachment to the wound... Is there pride involved in that, is self
validation an issue, is judgment an issue? Interesting that El, and I thank
her for that, drew this thing into the courtroom environment of judge and
jury (peers and patriarch) The place of judgement... where I believe it does
not belong.
The symbol for justice (note: NOT judgement) as well as for the angel
Michael is the balance, notice also that the goddess of justice is female
and that the angelic Michael is androgynous which is of course even better.
That apparatus, the balance is in principle not meant to find inequities and
inequalities and then reject what was found to be too light, but the balance
was originally an alchemical tool to create balance, to recalibrate.... If
something was found to be too heavy or too light it was NOT supposed to be
discarded, burned, thrown into jail, shunned, excommunicated or sent to hell
but to be balanced out with 'adequate' measures of subtle energies, the
alchemical ABACADABRA's of love and compassion. (Later some "Hail Mary's and
Pater Nosters would do as well.)
(By the way 'abacada' is the original pronunciation of the first letters of
our alphabet a b c d as in "All Bards Can Dance", those letters were
considered mantras..., voicing by itself is mantric, ask the old Adam :-).
Odd that, over time, humans have lost that *natural* inclination towards
balance and opted for rejection... something that in nature hardly
happens... Rejection is of course not a factual thing as nobody get really
annihilated when rejected... It is mental and mortal fear that ads the
concept of annihilation to it it... That mental and mortal fear is based on
the wrong philosophy, the one which believes that with death life stops...
That is so absolutely far from the truth. Death is NOT the opposite of life.
Only life IS, death is not even, it does not exist, it is only a concept.
The person who undergoes that what we usually call death, does not
experience death the way an onlooker sees it happen... What a surprise it
was for me...!
Live and Love,
Wim
