Garage bands joining together to rent community halls to have a place
to play, pogoing till the music stopped, and feeling it in my legs for 2
days after. Tiny band of peg-legged punkers sticking together for safety to
avoid random violence from the Jocks. We took over the High School
newspaper and the sports column simply said "not worth mentioning".. made
more room for cartoons and concernt reviews of obscure local punk bands.
So they bought the newspapers and sent them back as paper airplanes.
My girlfriends formed their own band, "The Virgins", I didn't play an
instrument so I was the roadie.
I was dating the guitarist from "The Hot Nasties". The boys in the band
teased him about his psychic girlfriend, so he tried to discourage my
antics by lying to me when I asked for confirmation of my impressions. I
lost faith in the inner voice and shut it down. 5 years of spiritual
winter. My parents see him in church, with his wife and 2 kids. He asks how
I am.. sweet guy.
The lead singer of the band will be Prime minister someday.. and when he
is the box of original copies of their single I've been keeping all these
years will be worth auctioning off..
How I love the internet.. typed in his name and the first result gave me

led me to discover that he is a politician in favor of internet
censorship.. my, how things change..
Since I was lucky with that one, I tried the band name and came up with

Before that I was seeing the vocalist for "The Social Blemishes".. an
amazingly charismatic individual who said Marilyn Monroe was his Spiritual
guide.
Goddess takes a form that we can love.
Same story tho.. when the slam dancers showed up the bands could no
longer rent halls because of vandalism. Pretty silly for middle class
Canadians to be taking on English rage in the first place, but it sure was
fun while it lasted..
