Subject: [K-list] Wound-ology, Empathy Overload

"Wound-ology" is a Carolyn Myss term for the perpetual state of
victimhood that our "self-help" society has nurtured. People become
so caught up in the process of "healing" that they are reluctant to
let go of their life's traumas, and instead cling to them as a
definition of self.
That said, Welcome Rustle!
The situations you describe sound very much to me like Empathy
Overload. My gut feeling (pun sorta intended) is that you allow your
strong and natural tendancy for empathy to let other peoples
feeling/thoughts/energies feed your own. Sometimes that means that
other's energies are feeding your fears too. Take it from me (no pun
intended!), as I've been there, done that. The best thing I came to
understand was that I did not have to take on other people's junk,
ideas, feelings, emotions, suffering, to love them or be loved by
them. Neither do you!
El - the demon-ridding hints you posted sound just fabulous!
I've been wondering to do with this raccoon . . .
Friday Night! Huzzah!
