It depends on how much work you feel like doing, and how you'll feel if the
work doesn't "take" and the person stays the same. I know a couple of women
who married men hoping to change them, and when it didn't happen they got
really fed up. I think mothers can influence children and make them more
spiritually inclined, but a full-grown adult is a different story.
A partner is a person, not a project. If you don't like them as they are,
you probably won't be happy, since it is very difficult to change people
unless they are motivated to change from within. I think you do better if
you find someone who is on your wavelength. Also, I would like to point out
that sometimes one person in a couple becomes more spiritually inclined over
time due to the normal growth that comes from living, and then the issue is
whether or not the partner keeps up with them.
